Summary/Abstract: In this paper we explore the cultural taste of Hungarians in Slovakia, which is an topic, that hasn´t been investigated yet. Our main research question is what factors influence taste – more specifically highbrow and lowbrow cultural preferences. Throughout our analysis we test the arguments of the homology theory, the individualization theory and the omnivoreness vs. univoreness theory of cultural taste. Based on our data we conclude, that there is a significant relationship between education and taste in a way that the omnivoreness vs. univoreness theory suggests, but individual factors, such as gender and age have impact on preferences as well.
