Summary/Abstract: Over the last decade, Saudi Arabia has become a focal point in the global cybersecurity landscape, facing a rising number of cyberattacks linked to its rapid digitalization, particularly under the Vision 2030 initiative. This paper explores the evolution of cyber warfare and cybercrime targeting Saudi Arabia, documenting major cyberattacks from 2012 to 2024. It evaluates the impacts of these breaches, ranging from financial losses to threats to national security, and highlights the broader implications for the country's economy and global standing. The analysis extends to the government's responses, including the establishment of the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA), implementation of advanced cyber laws, and strategic partnerships aimed at strengthening cyber defences. Saudi Arabia's improved standing in the Global Cybersecurity Index underscores its dedication to addressing vulnerabilities and enhancing digital security. However, the paper emphasizes that ongoing challenges remain, particularly as the kingdom navigates a rapidly evolving threat landscape. The study not only assesses Saudi Arabia's cybersecurity progress but also offers insights into global cyber defence strategies, underscoring the importance of continued vigilance, adaptive policies, and international cooperation to safeguard digital infrastructure in the future.
