Summary/Abstract: The influence of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) on students' digital literacy and problem-solving skills is investigated in Indonesian higher education institutions. To succeed in the changing technology field, students must learn to troubleshoot and use technology. This project integrates Problem-Based Learning (PBL) apps to optimize digital tools to improve learning outcomes in Indonesian higher education by aligning them with students' learning patterns and improving their digital competence and problem-solving skills. Thus, this study examines higher education student participation, self-competence, problem-solving, and digital skills using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The study examines how student inclusion affects problem-solving excellence, perspectives, strategies, digital proficiency, and self-confidence in 356 participants. Student engagement improves problem-solving quality but not attitudes or methods. Digital and problem-solving skills are strongly correlated with self-competence. Self-competence improves digital skills by improving quality, attitudes, and problem-solving. Transformation of perceived competence into practical digital skills requires problem-solving skills. These are crucial links between self-competence and digital skills.
