Summary/Abstract: Family and school, as the two basic educational environments, are expected to cooperate and partner with each other for the best development of the child. This paper presents research findings on parent-teacher collaboration at the primary level of education. The research focuses on the communication between parents and the classroom teacher, its content and forms of communication, as well as focusing onwhether there is a statistically significant association between the socioeconomic characteristics of the family (profession, income) and communication with the teacher. The research results show that teachers are the initiators of communication, while parents tend not to contact the teacher but to respond to the teacher's suggestion to communicate. Parents, irrespective of profession and income, mainly expect information about their child's progress and behaviour, primarily through digital means of communication. The results also showed that parents' profession and income had a significant association with parents' attitudes towards cooperating with the teacher at the primary level of education. However, profession emerged as a more vital determinant than parents' income.
