The Oldest Bronze Age Anchor with a Complex Design, and the Interpretation Problems of the Kamenskaya Culture in the Crimea

Summary/Abstract: The article’s main objective is to expand the range of sources that testify to ancient fishing and seafaring in the Northern Black Sea region, particularly in the Crimea. The finds of Bronze Age stone anchors from the Crimea are published for the first time. The significance of these materials lies in the fact that they originate from the investigated settlement of the Kamenskaya culture, Dezdar-Dere 3, which has a specific dating. Among the finds is a unique and one-of-a-kind anchor. Further analysis of the activities of the population of this culture, conducted with the inclusion of new materials, allows for a more detailed examination of its integrity and distinctive features across its entire distribution area.
