Leisure Time and Cultural Consumption Among Young Hungarians in the Carpathian Basin

Summary/Abstract: This study examines the leisure time and cultural consumption habits of Hungarian youth across the border. We review the changes in the consumer behavior of young people and the measures of the intensity of cultural consumption in the various regions across the border: South-Slovakia, Transylvania, Vojvodina and Transcarpathia. Our analysis examines the cultural consumption characteristics of Hungarian youth in the different regions. In a previous study, we examined in detail the cultural segmentation among young Hungarians in Transylvania. We are now interested in identifying similar or different consumer styles in other regions of the Carpathian Basin to those of Transylvanian young people, and based on all this, we will review some of the characteristics of the social and cultural stratification of young people.
