Summary/Abstract: The author discussed the issue of environmental crime, first of all its definition, what is meant by it, its characteristics, then he referred to the issue of environmental safety. He actually pointed to its pandemic scale as a set of criminal behaviors that can have a transnational character. Presented EU standards in the field of environmental protection as well as what is meant by environmental protection. The aim of the paper was to point out how natural and legal persons by their behavior contribute to the deterioration of the environment as well as the aspirations and tendencies of relevant international organizations in solving this problem and what are the ways to protect it.
