Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on the discursive representation of scientists engaged in civil disobedience for climate activismin 2022. This question will be examined through the notion of ethos, used in discourse analysis at the enunciative, lexical and discursive level (Amossy 1999, 2010, 2021, Maingueneau 1999, 2014, 2021, Rabatel 2020, Orikibi 2008).First, the discourses of scientist-activists were analyzed (Twitter, media), second, The Call for Civil Disobedience, thefounding text of the movement. The Scientist Rebellion was relevant to illustrate its collective ethos. It was observedthat scientist-activists construct their ethos on the same discursive strategies that climate activists have adopted tolegitimise their arguments.
