Summary/Abstract: In the changing international environment against the backdrop of the Russia-Ukraine War that started in February 2022, a new idea has begun to be discussed in the European Union (EU). The idea of a European Political Community (EPC), put forward by French President Emmanuel Macron, envisages cooperation with non-EU countries on issues about the European continent. This article asserts that the concept under discussion resembles the notion of a 'privileged partnership' that has long been on the EU's agenda while distinguishing it from the Council of Europe, which presently encompasses non-EU countries. By employing the historical narrative method, the study aims to examine the extent to which the EPC idea can be successful, considering the consequences of the Russia-Ukraine War on the EU. In this context, the article evaluates the assumption that the ECC idea will strengthen the EU's global relations and support the Union in dealing with global crises.
