Summary/Abstract: There are several explanations for cloud computing (English: Cloud Computing); however, one of the simplest definitions is as follows: Cloud computing is a set of disciplines, technologies, and business models used to deliver information technology capabilities. Data security in the cloud presents a significant challenge for organizations that use cloud services. A cloud service represents a model for providing various resources, applications, and services over the internet. This approach allows users to access resources and services only when they are needed, without relying on local servers and computers. In this paper, we will explain the basic types of cloud services, such as: IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service), and SaaS (Software as a Service). In this paper, we will explain what the challenges are, as well as the risks related to data security in the cloud. The challenges include: flexibility and scalability, reduced costs, access from anywhere, automatic updates and security, increased productivity. The risks include: security and privacy, dependence on an internet connection, platform closure, regulatory requirements. Cloud computing allows for simplified procurement, lower development and operating costs, a focus on new projects and work processes, and some services can be free... On the other hand, when it comes to cloud computing, businesses are concerned about the risk of hacker attacks through management interfaces, data loss, identity management, resource depletion... Special attention will be paid to the above-mentioned challenges and risks related to data security in the cloud, while the main data sources that we will use in the paper are: professional literature, websites, Chat GPT (ask artificial intelligence). The paper will be complemented with more visual representations, with the ultimate goal of contributing to a more meaningful explanation of the above-mentioned factors related to data security in the cloud.
