Summary/Abstract: The film dialogues in the multiple German award-winning film “Run Lola, run” (Lola rennt) from 1998, directed by Tom Tykwer, show an interesting trajectory in the creation and shaping of the identity of the main characters. Analyzing the dialogues of the characters, it can be noticed that they contribute to the development of the narrative and actively participate in the construction of their complex identities. Observing specific dialogues, it is noticeable how the language used by the characters and their choice of words, tone, as well as the context in which the dialogues take place, serve as powerful tools in the creation of identity. Interesting repetitive dialogue sequences shape a specific relationship between the characters. It is noticeable how film dialogues reflect broader social and cultural identities and contribute to the discourse on identity within film art. The research seeks to provide insight into the complex interaction between language, identity and film narrative, demonstrating how “Run Lola, Run” uses dialogue not only as a narrative mechanism but also as a means of research and presentation of identity.
