Summary/Abstract: Thanks to modern media, patients have wider access to medical knowledge and are more and more aware of their rights and treatment options. On the other hand, this information is often difficult to fully understand and properly interpret by people who do not have pro- fessional knowledge, which may lead to various types of misunderstandings, including claims against health care workers. In recent years, there has been an increasing number of patient complaints about medical errors. Providing conscientious care to patients and understanding them can help minimize these errors and improve patient – provider relationships.
