Summary/Abstract: I argue that a reconciliation and an eclectic synthesis in defining Stalinism are not only possible but necessary because what made Stalinism uniquely and controversially a political and socio- cultural phenomenon was Stalin's assignment of a human face to Communism, or an effort to literally personify Communism as himself. He thereby perverted Communism into a societal fad of blindly worshipping him instead of being a purely economic ideology faithful to its fundamental task of providing "everyone according to their own needs."
