METHODOLOGY FOR SOLVING ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS OF PUBLIC CITY TRANSPORT

Summary/Abstract: In order to analyse the role and importance of the urban public transport in preservation of the environment, it is necessary to recognize the infuence of individual motor vehicles on the environment, as well as the infuence of the urban public transport, being more favorable alternative for pasenger transport within urban areas. For that pupose it was important to first explore the structure of the emission per vehicle type and then to consider their effects on environment pollution. After that, a comparison of the impact on the environment between the urban public transport vehicles and the individual vehicles has been made. Special attention bas been focused on the analysis of possible applying of new worldwide trends in order ot find solution for reduction of negative impacts of the traffic on the environment of Sarajevo area.
