Summary/Abstract: This study tries to identify the reasons that determined the changes made by Law 217/2023 in the matter of sexual crimes and makes a brief review of these changes. The conclusions drawn from the analysis of the new law is that they are confusing, that they decriminalize certain acts that are currently crimes, that they do not provide increased protection for minors against sexual abuse and that they introduce sanctions for minor criminals that are not allowed by the Criminal Code.
