Łódź in the Memories of Irena Tuwim

Summary/Abstract: The article provides an analysis of Irena Tuwim’s text Łódzkie pory roku. Using the autobiographical approach proposed by Małgorzata Czermińska, the study reconstructs the memories of Łódź preserved in Tuwim’s stories, comparing them with other historical sources regarding, among other things, events and social movements. Based on the conclusions drawn, the article presents an image of early 20thcentury Łódź as filtered through childhood memories recorded many years later.
