A SOCIAL WORK PERSPECTIVE ON THE FAMILY IN THE SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC SYSTEM OF THE COMMUNITY

Summary/Abstract: The contemporary family is increasingly threatened in its stability andfunctionality due to the influence of social conditions, it is influenced by the socialenvironment or socio-economic system in which it lives in terms of acceptance ofthe family values as well as in terms of saturation of basic needs of family members.Therefore, it is very important to pay attention to the family in society from the pointof view of social work as a scientific discipline. The main aim of this professional textis to provide the expertise and perspective of social work on the family within thesocio-economic system of contemporary society. In this paper we use the method ofsystemic confrontation based on the literature. The family is an important system inthe whole society, which performs the most important roles in our lives. It provides thebackground that is necessary for social self-realization, it is the source of role modelsand experiences of a person in society.
