Specifics, dynamics, and trends of the lexicon and terminology in the field of karate

Summary/Abstract: This thesis examines the specifics, dynamics and tendency in the vocabulary, used by karate and from the people who practice it. When writing the work, I wanted to create a short guide for all who intend to understand more about the sport and get acquainted with the specifics of this martial art. From the position of a student, practicing karate for nearly 18 years, I must say that it is not only a sport, but also a set of important qualities that we all need in life in general - mental, physical and spiritual stability, respect, determination and others. From a philological point of view, I was extremely interested in categorizing the terms in karate – I looked at their specific use and specific meaning, which relates strictly to the context of this type of sports communication. I also focused on the non-verbal communication that is present in any kind of sport, which is a very huge part of different competitions.
