Summary/Abstract: This paper analyses the everyday values (life goals and aspirations) of school–aged youth in the context of sociologicalresearch and public opinion surveys. The conducted sociological analyses identify the predominant (primary) everydayvalues in the consciousness of Polish youth, as well as less significant (secondary) values, and their changes within thehierarchical structure. These changes are generally evolutionary and gradual in nature. Among youth, the value ofa “successful family life” has slightly declined in significance in comparison to other competing values. In the seconddecade of the 21st century, the approval for this value has decreased by several percentage points. Family, love, andfriendship undoubtedly remain the leading everyday values. Supporting values, which serve as a foundation for theprimary ones, include employment, education, and self–realisation, with religion playing a significantly less importantrole. Social values, which require selfless engagement with the problems of an individual but also with broader socialstructures, such as the homeland, are significantly less popular. The low importance of political values has remainedunchanged for a long time, which is probably connected with the lack of trust in political elites. Furthermore, thediminished significance of religious values indicates an ongoing process of secularisation of morality.
