Summary/Abstract: This article discusses redefinitions of the concept of life in the context of cyborg researchand posthumanism. The author argues that artificial life as a concept necessitates areevaluation of the notion of life itself, taking into account both biological and virtualaspects. Ferrando also discusses the significance of embodiment in posthumanistepistemology and criticizes the reductionist approach to life as a pure information. Thearticle aims to provoke discussion on the ontology of artificial life and its implicationsfor the future of technology and society.
