Summary/Abstract: Increased cross-border mobility caused by the Russian assault on Ukraine encourages specialists involved in teaching Polish as a foreign and second language to undertake new research projects that revise existing psycholinguistic and glottopedagogical assumptions. The current situation highlights the significance of continued efforts to support the teaching of Polish as a second language, developed since the second decade of the 21st century, focusing on learning and teaching Polish in the context of migration and acculturation processes. A large number of adult refugees with various scenarios of stay in Poland need a new, different from traditional, language and cultural education path that will enable effective social integration.
