Summary/Abstract: Popular culture is defined as a culture that can be consumed quickly, is a candidate for being a topic in daily life, is focused on pleasure and satisfaction, and is popular and allows the individual to acquire a temporary identity. With the opportunities offered by the modern age, communication and media, popular culture has developed to be taken into account. One of the areas where popular culture has spread, its reflections witnessed in every field, is literature. In the literary field, the common features of works that are easily accessible and readable, free from artistic concerns, message-oriented, prioritize the consumption of thoughts and emotions, and appeal to the general public are popular culture. One of the genres in which popular culture, seen in different genres of the literary field, becomes evident is the novel. Popular historical novel appears with its unique aspects within this narrative form, which is defined as popular novel, classified under this name and designed within the framework of rules. Based on a specific historical event, the novel popularizes and describes all the features of the event in question. One of these novels that aims to be read, known, talked about, popular, and sometimes to convey a message is Ayşe Kulin's novel Veda. Although its main focus is the period of national struggle, the work also covers the before and after, and covers a long range of history. Events; The work, which deals with the axis of homeland, freedom, oppression, violence, occupation, struggle and justice, adopts a narrative in which centimental emotions sometimes intensify. In addition to these arguments that popularize it, the work takes the form of a novel with the characteristics of a popular history novel, including person, place, time and other elements, and constitutes an example of today's popular culture. Both the particular and universal existence of the concepts on which it is built are a work that intersects with popular culture; It clarifies the genre to which it belongs by containing a discourse shaped by the possibilities of this culture. In this study, the reflections of the mentioned culture are discussed based on the examination of the Veda novel, which is an example of a popular novel in the context of popular culture.
