Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this traditional review is to compile studies examining demographic factors and personality traits associated with practicing and being exposed to ghosting behavior in romantic relationships. The studies to be included in this traditional review were obtained by searching Scopus, Science Direct, Medline, PubMed, Sage Journal and TR Index databases with the keywords "ghosting and personality" and its associated Turkish translation. 19 studies conducted between 2010 and 2023 were included in this traditional review. The weight of the limited literature findings showed that women were more likely to show ghosting behavior than men and that both the level of commitment in the relationship and the duration of the relationship were negatively associated to the practice of ghosting behavior. Findings regarding age were conflicting. Moreover, regarding the personality traits, it was observed that each of the limited number of relevant studies either focused on a different personality trait (sense of power, empathy, assertiveness) or the findings of two studies conducted on the same personality tendency sometimes overlap (self-esteem) and sometimes contradict (avoidant attachment, dark triad). Considering the scarcity of the relevant studies, possible cultural, sample and measurement differences and the literature findings indicating that ghosting might be affected by different factors beyond personality tendencies, such as threat perception towards the partner, relationship duration and intimacy of the relationship, it was thought that it would be beneficial to increase the number of studies examining the relationship between ghosting and personality inclinations and demographic factors in different cultures and samples.
