Summary/Abstract: With streaming services entering the local market, Poland has witnessed a substantial surgein audiovisual productions, both of films and television series. This proliferation suggests a robustdomestic film market, despite the prevailing global crisis. However, assessing the health of localaudiovisual production based solely on the quantity of output, devoid of context, is inadequate fora rigorous evaluation. In fact, Polish film and television production grapples with numerous institu-tional challenges, which become evident when scrutinizing the intricacies of the role of the Polishproducer. It is the producer, as the pivotal entity within the entire audiovisual production chain, whofaces myriad issues that significantly affect the industry and its stakeholders. This article undertakesan examination of the work culture of Polish producers, aiming to elucidate the critical junctureswithin the production chain of local films and series.
