Summary/Abstract: Immigration remains a pivotal issue in global politics, particularly in regionsexperiencing uncontrolled infl uxes of immigrants. This article examines the eff ec-tiveness of asylum laws in Australia and the European Union, contrasting theirapproaches to managing immigration challenges. It analyzes policy frameworks,enforcement mechanisms, and outcomes, highlighting best practices and areas forimprovement. The objective of this paper is to focus on asylum law, as the eu doesnot have unified immigration policy, with immigration remaining a key compe-tence of each member state. By comparing these two approaches, the paper aimsto provide insights into the eff icacy of diff erent immigration management strate-gies and their impact on the economy, social views, and political decisions. Australia,an island nation with a history of controlled immigration and eu, a conglomer-ate of diverse nations, both face complex immigration challenges, including irreg-ular migration and refugee infl ows, necessitating a more multifaceted approach.This article explores the eff ectiveness of these diff ering strategies in managingimmigration.
