Summary/Abstract: The objective of this study is to analyse the relationship between corporate governance and companies’ performance by using a bibliometric analysis methodology. The Scopus database was used, covering the period from 2011 to 2025, and including 120 papers. The research follows the PRISMA 2020 guidelines for systematic literature reviews, and the data was processed using the Bibliometrix package in R. The findings indicate a fluctuating, yet increasing academic interest in the corporate governance-performance nexus, with a peak in 2021. The bibliometric analysis highlights dominant research methodologies, leading publication sources and influential contributors in the field. Moreover, the study identifies a transition from traditional governance-performance discussions to contemporary themes such as sustainability, ESG factors, and the impact of digital transformation on governance frameworks. By offering a comprehensive bibliometric insight into the corporate governance-performance nexus, particularly in the context of an emerging economy, this study contributes to the existing literature by mapping the intellectual structure of the field, identifying research gaps, and suggesting potential directions for future studies.
