Summary/Abstract: The economic development of underdeveloped and developing countries is directly or indirectly dependent on international financial institutions, including the IMF, EBRD, EIB, WORLD BANK and other international financial institutions. In order for a country to be able to apply for loans from these financial institutions, they have to fulfill a number of conditions and phwith other alternative solutions to this problem, which can be a generous source of financing for Bosnian business entities and government officials, so that they can use the missing financial resources om domestic sources. Savings of the population of Bosnia and Herzegovina in commercial banks in the last year alone amounted to about 14.22 billion KM. These funds would be a quality alternative for most loans from international financial institutions. We will present only some of the problems as well as possible solutions to the current financial problems in Bosnia and Herzegovina in both entities and Brčko District as its constituent parts.
