Summary/Abstract: Based on available first-rate documents, this paper provides an overview of the renowned historical figure Mehmed Memiš Aga Mačković and analyzes the family tree of the Mačković family, later known as Kasumagić, starting from the grandfather of the aforementioned Memiš Aga to his descendants. Many of these descendants are still alive today; therefore, we have included family members whose biographies were available to us and whom we could certainly include as part of the abundant family tree. In addition to a detailed catalog description of Mehmed Memiš Aga’s manuscript collection, which helps us understand the profile of this individual, three vasiyyetnames in Ottoman Turkish were consulted in the genealogical research of the Kasumagić family. Data from these vasiyyetnames enabled us, through the application of analytical and comparative methods, to ascertain and confidently establish links between certain members of this prominent family. This study derives its significance from three key aspects: the detailed description of Memiš Aga’s manuscript collection, the illumination of the Kasumagić family’s genealogy, and the revival of a somewhat forgotten tradition among Bosniaks — the writing of vasiyyetnames.
