Aspects of the Veneration of Saints Cyril and Methodius Reflected in Several Icons from the Second Half of the 19th Century

Summary/Abstract: The paper focuses on several examples of endowed icons of Sts Cyril and Methodius, the details of which express a particular veneration for the saints. They add to the rich and varied picture of the data collected through research on the development of the cult of Sts Cyril and Methodius after the Liberation. The icons presented distinguish a new group among the Bulgarian images of the Slavic enlighteners, in which a development in the veneration, expressed already through material gifts, is noticeable.
