Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to study the work of Ukrainian numismatists on the creation of a numismatic map of Ukraine in the 20-30s of the 20th century. Scientific novelty. For the first time, the work of the numismatic commission, which worked on creating a map of numismatic finds on the territory of Ukraine in the 20-30s of the 20th century, is highlighted. Archival materials that have remained out of the attention of researchers are brought into scientific circulation. 82 coin finds of the late 19th and early 20th centuries were put into scientific circulation, the data on which were collected by a research team chaired by the All-Ukrainian Archaeological Committee and led by numismatist Valentyn Shuhaievskyi. For almost a hundred years, numismatic scientists have come a long way from understanding the treasure as the main source for replenishing numismatic collections to understanding that a treasure preserved in its entirety is an extremely valuable source for studying the economic and political history of a country in a given period. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, archaeological maps of Kyiv, Volyn, Kharkiv, and Podillia provinces were created, where archaeological finds were published alongside archaeological monuments. The early 20th century was a period when researchers moved from publishing individual findings to systematising coin deposits and describing patterns and main types of coins typical of a certain chronological period and certain geographical areas, as well as describing and identifying certain historical processes that contribute to the appearance of a particular coin in coin deposits. Valentyn Shuhayevsky was one of the first scholars to make a generalised work on the history of money circulation in Ukraine. In 1919, the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine established a commission to draw up an archaeological map of Ukraine. The group that created the numismatic map of Ukraine was headed by V. Shuhayevsky. During the 20s and 30s, this group collected significant material, which, unfortunately, was not published. In the 1930s, Ukrainian science and museums were subjected to repression, and many scientific projects were curtailed, including the creation of an archaeological map of Ukraine.
