Additions to the study of the manuscript Vaticanus Graecus 163

Summary/Abstract: This paper examines the manuscript Vaticanus Graecus 163. Despite being the subject of multiple scholarly inquiries, its fate remains unresolved, and only a fraction of its extensive marginalia has been published. The manuscript’s textual content and the contributions of its copyists render it a complex cultural artifact, meriting comprehensive analysis. Accordingly, this study offers an exploration of the manuscript’s provenance, discloses previously unpublished marginal notes that provide insights into its subsequent utilization, and introduces a new, authoritative edition of a fragment from the Byzantine historian Theodore Skoutariotes, accompanied by a philological analysis of the text.
