Summary/Abstract: Traces of French personalism in the Slovenian pedagogical ideas between the two world wars Prior to World War One, Slovenian culture was mostly based on Austrian and German cultures, whilst after the war there was a cultural reorientation, which also affected education. Between the two wars, French influence appeared in education and culture in general, together with French personalism. The article’s introduction shows how the ideas of French personalism appeared in Slovenia. This is followed by focusing on the authors (Jakob Solar, Stanko Cajnkar and Stanko Gogala), who emphasised these ideas in their pedagogical activities. The article seeks to find traces of French personalism in their ideas by comparing them with a number of the pedagogical ideas of Jacques Maritain, who introduced the concepts of French personalism into the educational field.
