Summary/Abstract: By applying of a specific hermeneutical method, the paper explores the actual social position of national minorities in post-Dayton Bosnia and Herzegovina, of their members, ie. individuals, individuals who identify with one of 17 specific social groups determined by the origin and national criteria, the capacity of a minority, and minorities as collectivities, the community - in the political sphere, especially in the field of participation of national-minority subjects in institutions and authorities, and in public services and decision making process. The author has in many cases proved that the situation vis-a-vis the rights of national minorities in the said field in post-Dayton Bosnia and Herzegovina, particularly in the normative dimension and semntici, is not less favorable than in most other countries of the modern world, from which it can be inferred that the authorities u BiH creatively and effectively implemented most of the standards referred to, for example, the Framework Convention for the protection of national minorities of the Council of Europe. However, despite the results achieved in the emancipation of national minorities, they are still some problems in the realization of their rights and ambitions to be adequately represented in the numerous authorities of local governments represent some inconsistencies and abuses of electoral legislation and manipulation of political actors.
