Summary/Abstract: The author confronts the traditional prototypes of the spirit of time with its civilization prototypes that seem to dominate nowadays. To those latter ones refers the conception of “the spirit of time”, elaborated by the author in the categories of recentivism, i.e. the view that our world is being born each time (a recentiori) anew along with experience, despite its having existed in some way or another before. The author views the traditional prototypes of the “spirit of time” as those that are linked with the recognition of the generational situation of the people in the frame of the epoch being for them the result of the turn of the three spindles of time – the past, the present, and the future. Recentivism advocates the vision of culture dominated by the present, the latter being the only time keeping pace with reality.
