Summary/Abstract: The need to save energy and reduce air pollution are the main reasons for citizens to think more often about energy efficiency. With the rapid urbanization and construction of more and more buildings, only concrete and asphalt can be seen, and greenery and clean air are lost. By building green roofs on commercial and residential buildings, which look more like gardens and parks, the lost green area in the city can be restored and thus a more ecological environment can be obtained. However, green roofs are already an acceptable world trend, a process responsible for nature, a sustainable concept as part of green architecture and a logical extension of the conservation of energy resources. Green roof surfaces have a positive effect on meeting the aesthetic needs of people, that is, those who are employed in facilities that overlook buildings with green roofs. Studies have shown that people who worked in rooms with plants present or with a view of a green area were 12 percent more productive than those who worked in rooms without any contact with plants.
