Evidence Based Library and Information Practice

Summary/Abstract: The evidence-based movement originally appeared in the medical area, but it has been taken over in recent years by other areas too, including library and information science. In Romania this approach is not well known and starting from this premisis, our article presents some general aspects regarding the evidence based practice, the way it was defined, the conceptual framework of evidence based librarianship, important names that have been at the forefront of the movement in our field, the stages of evidence based practice and their importance.
