Summary/Abstract: This paper explores the role of visual art in the design of pediatric medical spaces, highlighting its positive impact on children's well-being and recovery processes. In the context of clinical environments often perceived as sterile and stressful, artistic elements become essential for transforming the space into a friendly and comforting place. Through the strategic use of color, shapes, and illustrations, architectural design can significantly contribute to reducing anxiety, stimulating positive emotions, and creating a sense of safety and comfort. The study proposes an interdisciplinary approach, emphasizing ways in which visual art can be effectively integrated into the design of pediatric clinics and hospitals. While many designs focus exclusively on the medical functionality of the space, resulting in minimalist layouts and superficial decorations—limited to stickers or images featuring cartoon characters—such an approach may underestimate the potential of children's imagination. In this context, the paper argues for the necessity of a well-defined visual journey that goes beyond mere decorative function, aiming to create a sensory and emotionally stimulating environment. Through the analysis of successful international examples, this research explores how well-conceived artistic interventions, seamlessly integrated into the design of spaces, can improve the pediatric patient experience. Thus, the therapeutic role of art is highlighted, along with its contribution to enriching contemporary medical architecture.
