Summary/Abstract: Facing high incarceration rates and significant reintegration challenges, the Czech Republic sees a substantial number of former inmates returning to prison within two years of release. Factors such as debt, unstable housing, addiction, and long-term unemployment contribute to this cycle. Effective prison and post-prison care, including stable housing, debt resolution, legal employment, and family support, are crucial for reducing recidivism. However, the current system suffers from fragmented services and insufficient coordination among various ministries and organizations. Non-profit organizations play a vital role in bridging these gaps, offering specialized support and continuity of care. Successful reintegration requires early and continuous engagement with these organizations, fostering trust and providing comprehensive support. Legislative and systemic changes are needed to enhance collaboration and ensure consistent support for released individuals, ultimately aiding their transition back into society.
