Summary/Abstract: A popular song formed from several poems by Sándor Petőfi. Who wouldn’t know Befordultam a konyhara, Fa lezek, ha fanak oder vríaga, or Tíz pár ksókot egy kögböl. His poem Alku, which begins with Shepherd, poor shepherd, enriches the world of our folk songs today. The poem The Moonlight is Bathing in the Sea of the Sky is a folk song (Hungarian song) and I will present its folk variants in my presentation. The poem was turned into a song with the melody of Ignác Bognár, but there is also a folk song version of this poem, the old melody of which shows affinities with our laments and can also be related to our historical songs.
