Summary/Abstract: The article discusses health and hygiene in Slovenian school in the 19th century as described in the pedagogical press. The oldest publication, Šolski prijatelj, wrote about this topic, followed by Učiteljski tovariš, Slovenski učitelj and Popotnik. The articles were mostly about the duties of teachers, who had to ensure that children came to school clean, that the classrooms were clean and aired and, above all, they had to look after their own health. The article also lists the orders of the ministry for school and worship in connection with health and schools and curricula.
