Digitization of the collection of Naum Celakoski (1934 – 2023)

Summary/Abstract: One of the key initiatives of the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology (IEA) is the preservation and digitization of the materials from prominent figures in these fields. Following the passing of Naum Celakoski in January 2023, the IEA was privileged to receive his extensive collection and library. The digitization of such collections is crucial, particularly for research into the development of these disciplines within the Macedonian context. This effort allows for a deeper understanding of the historical, social, and technical circumstances in which these scholars worked during their most productive years. Equally crucial is the role of archiving and digitization in reinforcing institutional memory. These preserved materials not only honor the individuals who shaped the growth of these fields but also emphasize the continuity of the disciplines and the institutions throughout history.
