Summary/Abstract: This study aimed to investigate the serial mediation effects of expression of gratitude and ontological well-being on the relationship between perceived social support and depression level. The current research was carried out between November 14, 2021–January 12, 2022, with 270 participants aged 18–64, reached via Google Surveys. Data collection tools of the study were Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, Gratitude Expression Scale, Ontological Well-Being Scale, and Beck Depression Scale. In the analysis phase of the research, Pearson’s correlation analysis and mediation analysis were used. When the Pearson correlation analysis results were examined, it was found that as the perceived social support levels of the participants increased, their depression scores decreased significantly. Besides, it was concluded that there was a negative significant relationship between the participants' expression of gratitude and ontological well-being and their depression scores. According to the serial mediation model, it was determined that both expression of gratitude and ontological well-being have significant mediation effects on the relationship between perceived social support and depression. In the study, it was found that as perceived social support increases, expression of gratitude increases, and as expression of gratitude increases, ontological well-being increases, which in turn, the level of depression decreases. As a result, it is thought that there is a need for interventions that aim to increase people's expressions of gratitude and ontological well-being in the treatment of depression.
