Summary/Abstract: Air pollution comes largely from anthropogenic sources (so-called low emissions), and urban centers are the main source of pollutants. Air pollution has a negative impact on health, confirmed by research, and is the cause of tens of thousands of deaths annually in Poland. The aim of the study is to assess the co-occurrence of dust pollution and mortality in selected cities in Poland in 2010–2022. The answer to the research question: what is the nature of the relationship between dust pollution and mortality caused by circulatory and respiratory diseases and cancer in cities in Poland?, was sought. An analysis of Spearman’s rho correlation coefficient was carried out, taking into account time delays between variables characterizing dust pollution (concentration of PM2.5, PM10 and the number of days when the PM10 dust standard was exceeded) and mortality (death rate due to circulatory and respiratory system diseases and cancer). The obtained results confirm the negative relationship between air pollution and the health of residents of urban areas in Poland.
