Summary/Abstract: One of the most significant challenges that military organisations must overcome is the ability to adapt during a conflict, regardless of its scale and intensity. This complex phenomenon begins and unfolds continuously from the period of peacetime, intensifying in wartime to recalibrate the possibilities of the military entity to the new requirements of the battlefield. It is frequently misunderstood and inadequately researched, which has resulted in a series of adverse consequences for the actions of the armed forces. Furthermore, the absence or inadequacy of adaptation has, on numerous occasions, led to the failure of armed forces in combat, ultimately resulting in the loss of the war. In this context, this approach aims to ascertain the components of the military organisation’s adaptation process, its levels of achievement and the factors that contribute to its success or failure. To achieve the proposed objectives, a comprehensive documentary analysis has been conducted, enabling the identification of the underlying foundations of the adaptation process. Taking into account the latter, the analysis of various military conflicts from the perspective of the adaptation process has facilitated the achievement of the research results. These results, in the author’s opinion, represent a topic of interest for military leadership, particularly given that the topic addressed is not sufficiently treated by the existing literature.
