Summary/Abstract: This article examines the grounds for declaring a „state of emergency” on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria, provided for in the Bulgarian Constitution and the normative acts to which it refers. In the presentation, an attempt is made to distinguish the different grounds for declaring a state of emergency under the current Bulgarian legislation, and finally some shortcomings of the current legal framework are identified, which can be easily overcome by legislative means.
