Summary/Abstract: It is the first after the artist’s death in 1964 such large, monograph-like exhibition of his sculptures, organised on the basis of the Xawery Dunikowski Museum of Sculpture in Królikarnia collection, what coincided with the 30th anniversary of raising the Centre of Polish Sculpture in Orońsko. Joanna Torchała, the exhibition curator, focused on exposing portrait works (created before September 1939), when monument sculpture was on the margin of his interests. The exhibition was accompanied by an album (with all features of a catalogue), with bilingual (Polish-English) preface, numerous photos and dates from Xawery Dunikowski’s life and work. Relatively long, though with no polemical accents, introduction (by Joanna Torchała), as well as photos of the artist’s works that were not present at the exhibition in Orońsko, complete the image of the most outstanding Polish sculptor of the 20th century.
