Summary/Abstract: The objective of the article is an introduction of perception of Baroque works of art based on the 18th-century diary written by Teofila Konstancja Morawska, princess Radziwill. In 1774–1775 the diary’s author went travelling to Italy, France and Germany – countries situated on route of popular at that time Grand Tours. As fruit of the voyage appeared Diary of Teofila Konstancja, wife of General Ignacy Morawski, princess Radziwill travelling abroad in the years 1773–1774, one of very few preserved and analysed women’s diaries from 18th century. The method applied in this study was selecting Baroque works of art (architecture, sculpture and painting) described in the diary, and analysing modes of presenting them (description format) and the very language of description (especially terminology matters). The analysis has brought the picture of Morawska as a person extremely sensitive to art issues, who also expressed her interest in art of Baroque, who had visited and described many buildings originated in the 17th and 18th centuries.
