Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the history of the formation and development of exhibition and fair relations between the Soviet Union and Sweden in the interwar period — a topic that has not yet become the subject of special study in domestic historiography. The work is based on materials from the leading periodicals of the USSR — the newspapers “Pravda” and “Izvestia”, as well as the “Information Bulletin” of the All -Union Society for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries (VOKS). The author shows the history of exhibition and fair relations between the Soviet Union and the Kingdom of Sweden in chronological order in the 1920s, finds out how and thanks to whom (what) mutually beneficial relations were formed in this area, reveals the most striking examples of cooperation. The lower chronological boundary —1922 is due to the first contact in this area, the upper — 1928 — the actual termination of exhibition and fair contacts between Moscow and Stockholm. In preparing the article, the chronological and diachronic methods, as well as the method of content analysis, were used. As a result of the study, it was established that the first Soviet exhibition and fair in Stockholm took place in 1922. Moreover, before the establishment of full-scale Soviet-Swedish relations in 1924, they were held as handicrafts fairs, which removed possible accusations from the anticommunist forces of Europe from the Swedish organizers in building a friendly state policy with the Bolshevik regime of Russia. After Sweden de jure recognized the Soviet Union, contacts between the countries in the exhibition and fair field increased. Literally every year, several events were held. The greatest number of them took place in 1927, which was facilitated, first of all, by the desire of the Bolshevik leaders in the year of the 10th anniversary of the October Revolution to create the most favorable image of the Soviet Union abroad. One of the centers for fulfilling this task was VOKS. True, in a series of events of ideological and propaganda orientation, exhibitions retained their significance as, first of all, a platform for studying the achievements of Western technology, including Swedish, in order to then introduce them into the Soviet economy. The anniversary year of 1927 became the peak in the development of exhibition and fair relations between the USSR and Sweden. In the context of the aggravation of international relations, the tightening of domestic policy in the Soviet Union and the correction of its foreign policy, from 1928 there was a sharp reduction in international contacts, which quickly actually ceased.
