Summary/Abstract: The article examines the protests in Serbia by conducting a historical and political study of the resistance movements, particularly mass demonstrations and citizen’s demands, in the context of recent political tensions. This historical analysis allows the author to highlight the challenges related to the protection of fundamental rights of protesters, the restrictions imposed by the authorities, and the legal framework governing the right to assembly. Finally, the article observes the response of institutions, including court decisions and legislative reforms affecting the freedom to protest in Serbia, as well as the reaction of the European Union to this crisis.
