Summary/Abstract: This study investigates the effects of migrationto Turkey between 2004 and 2024 on macroeconomicindicators such as growth, unemployment, and inflation.Turkey, which has experienced significant migrationwaves throughout history due to its geopolitical location, has hosted millions of migrants, especially since theSyrian civil war began in 2011. The data used in thisresearch were obtained from the Turkish StatisticalInstitute (TURKSTAT), the World Bank, the Presidencyof Migration Management, and the InternationalMonetary Fund (IMF). The findings of the analysis showthat there is a bidirectional causality between migrationand economic growth and that there is a bidirectionaleffect based on low wages and informal work in theemployment market. The research findings also showthat migrant labor suppresses wages and increasesunemployment, and the informal economy expands, thus limiting growth in the long term. Although theinflation effect has increased demand pressure throughmigrants' basic needs, it is understood that this situationis mainly due to market imbalances. The researchfindings also found that migration significantly impactsTurkey's macroeconomic indicators.
